Patty grew up surrounded by water on Summer Island in Branford, CT. At the age of five, Patty had her very own rowboat, and would spend hours at a time in the lagoon by her house.  One of her favorite childhood memories was learning how to dig for clams with her father on the beach in front of her house. Although she attended school to be a Veterinarian Assistant, she has always had a love for working on the water. Patty has been working out at sea since the early 1990s as a deck hand on various boats. In 1997 she began working with Art and Tommy Dolan for Dolan Bros. Shellfish Co.

Two years later she joined Norm Bloom and Son (a sister company to Dolan Bros.) She currently operates one of our 40-foot clam boats, the “Robert Marie” and also manages Dolan Bros. daily order flow and deliveries. Throughout her career, Patty has remained an active advocate for the Shellfish commission, attending monthly meetings in various towns. When Patty is not operating the boat, you will find her working at the City Seed farmers market in New Haven, CT. She also enjoys spending time with her four daughters (who have all worked on the boat with her at some point), and her two grandchildren. In her spare time, Patty enjoys cooking, camping, boating, fishing, hiking and most of all, vacationing to St. John and Florida with her husband, Jay.
